Inspired by processes commonly used in the microelectronics industry to fabricate integrated circuits, GVD has pioneered novel technology that allows almost any surface to be coated with a thin polymer. The key to our process is its gentleness. Conventional vapor deposition processes are often conducted at high temperatures or involve high energies. While these conditions are suitable for depositing inorganic materials (silicon, ceramics, or diamonds), they are destructive to delicate organic materials such as polymers. GVD has resolved this dilemma by using radically different chemistries that are compatible with cooler temperatures and lower input energies. GVD's "gentle" chemical vapor deposition process offers an unprecedented degree of control over coating properties, providing precision surfaces and greatly improved products.
